 The American Cancer Society needs volunteers to work directly with people facing cancer. Volunteers will work in our Cancer Resource Center located at the Yuma Cancer Center. Volunteers will assist visitors with booklets, connect them with programs, services, and community resources and give gifts items. Volunteers provide a vital role in diminishing the suffering of people facing cancer through kindness, listening, and connecting them with the tools needed during their journey. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, be empathetic, passionate about finding the cure, and have an outgoing personality. Volunteers are needed to work one 4-hour shift per week. This is the location of the American Cancer Society CANCER RESOURCE CENTER inside the Yuma Cancer Center. From 24th street, turn into towards Yuma Regional Medical Center on Hospital Drive. The drive will immediately fork. Turn to the right and go to the second building on the right, which is the Yuma Cancer Center. The Cancer Resource Center is open to anyone who needs information or assistance from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Mondays and Wednesdays (closed noon-1:00). |
