Description:
Yuma WORC Center, Inc. is a community rehabilitation program, which provides vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities enabling those individuals to maximize their opportunities for employment, including career advancement. Our organization provides these services through various federal, state, local, and private contracts and has been the premier provider of employment and employment-related services to individuals with disabilities in Southwest Arizona. Yuma WORC Center also provides services to Department of Rehabilitation clients in California as well. The California Employment Services Program is grant funded and serves individuals living in rural Eastern Imperial County including Winterhaven, Bard, Imperial Dam, the Quechan Reservation, and Andrade.

History:
In 1973, a group of Yuma citizens with developmentally and/or physically disabled children and relatives worked together to create what is now known as the Yuma WORC (Work, Opportunity, Responsibility, Confidence) Center, Inc. The founding members knew their disabled children had the ability to contribute to society and lead a greater quality of life. The Yuma WORC Center was established on the principle that the disabled population could work, draw a paycheck, and contribute to the local tax rolls. Many employment opportunities have been created and acquired in an attempt to give the local disabled community a chance for independence.

Yuma WORC Center, Inc. is a United Way recipient and a Yuma Area Nonprofit Institute member.
