Description:
ACHIEVE Human Services, Inc. is a community rehabilitation program that services individuals with the most significant disabilities. Through its quality programs and services ACHIEVE recognizes the ability within a disability and develops opportunities that enhances peoples lives through vocational training and employment. ACHIEVE is proud to be contributing to the advancement and growth of the people we serve by reducing dependency on social services and government subsidization by building their skills leading to self-sufficiency.

History:
In 1973, a group of Yuma citizens with developmentally and/or physically disabled children and relatives worked together to create what was known as the Yuma WORC (Work, Opportunity, Responsibility, Confidence) Center, Inc. We have changed our name to ACHIEVE Human Services, Inc. The founding members knew their disabled children had the ability to contribute to society and lead a greater quality of life. ACHIEVE was established on the principle that the disabled population could work, draw a paycheck, and contribute to the local tax rolls. Many employment opportunities have been created and acquired in an attempt to give the local disabled community a chance for independence.

ACHIEVE is a United Way recipient and a Yuma Area Nonprofit Institute member.
