BACA Mission Statement
Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. We desire to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of our organization, and that we are prepared to lend our physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and our physical presence. We stand at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. We do not condone the use of violence or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, we stand ready to be that obstacle.

Description:
How B.A.C.A. Works
Bikers Against Child Abuse, Inc. (B.A.C.A.) is organized with a central contact person to receive calls from referring agencies and individuals. A recognized, authorized agency with which the child has had contact determines that the child is still frightened by his or her environment. The agency representative contacts B.A.C.A., or refers the individual to contact B.A.C.A. and the name and address of the child is given to our B.A.C.A./Child Liaison. The Liaison determines that the case is legitimate, meaning that the authorities have been contacted, and the case in being processed within the system. The Liaison contacts the family and an initial ride is organized to meet the child at their home or in some other location. The entire B.A.C.A. chapter rides to meet the child and he/she is given a vest with a B.A.C.A. patch sewn on the back. The child is free to wear the vest or not, and we support their decision. The child is also given bumper stickers, and other gifts that are generally donated by the public. These initial visits generally last about a half an hour.

Following this initial contact, the child is given the name and number of two B.A.C.A. members residing geographically closest to them, who then become the child's primary contact person(s). Prior to becoming the primary contacts for the child, the bikers are cleared for participation by clearing an extensive background check, have ridden with the Chapter for at least a year, and have received special instructions from the Licensed Mental Health Professional. Anytime the child feels scared and feels the need for the presence of his new B.A.C.A. family, the child may call upon these bikers to go to the childs house and provide the necessary reassurance to feel safe and protected. B.A.C.A. members and supporters also support the children by: providing escorts for them if they feel scared in their neighborhoods; riding by their homes on a regular basis; supporting the children at court and parole hearings; attending their interviews, and; staying with the children if they are alone and frightened. The B.A.C.A. members never go to the childs house alone and never without the knowledge or permission of the parents. Our mission is not to be permanently engaged as the childs power. Our mission is to help the children and their families learn how powerful they can be. Our presence will be available as long as the child needs us. B.A.C.A. also holds other functions for the children such as Bar-B-Ques, and parties.

History:
B.A.C.A. started as an idea to help one wounded child. This child was eight years old at the time, and was so frightened of his perpetrators that he would not leave his residence. Chief, having had kind and loving experiences with bikers in his youth was moved to include this boy in his biker circle. Within weeks, this boy was seen all over town riding his bike and playing with other children. The idea to rally the biker community in defense and in support of children was actualized in 1995 when the first ride was held to visit wounded children and adopt them into the biker family- that first ride had twenty seven bikes present. From there it was only a matter of time before the word spread quickly about what was happening in Utah. Shortly after forming the first chapter in Utah, another chapter was formed in Utah, then Oklahoma and Texas, and the rest is part of the B.A.C.A. history. What was started as an idea was actualized by the dedicated and heartfelt love of bikers across the country.

OUR GUARDIAN ANGELS....
After living in fear with my 3 kids for so many years, I found our guardian angels....BACA.... they gave us our life back! The roar of bikes coming down our street and the instant smiles on the faces of my kids .... for the first time we are not afraid to go anywhere and we finally feel safe at home too. The instant sense of relief is amazing ... the instant smiles on all our faces just hearing our BACA family ride by just to let all know they are there for us and to remind us they are always there for us. Even after the initial phone call to Krash my burden was lifted, just to know someone feels as strongly about my kids safety as much as I do... even if the courts and cops don't consider kids safety ... BACA does. I started our initial visit with "wow, what a concept ... looking out for kids ... even if you can't help my family please let me be involved" but luckily and thankfully they did help my family. I think anyone can say they care about kids ...BACA show it. My children proudly wear their vests and tattoos, and knowing my son (bambam 3yo) is going somewhere unsafe (thanks to the courts who consider fathers rights over-ride kids safety) I always put a BACA tattoo on him before leaving, to remind him he is well looked after. He is only 3 but knows the tattoo stands for "its my body and don't touch.....or else" If only every child could feel as safe as my kids do now .....Thanks BACA. My daughter Scruffy (10) commented after our awesome adoption "Mum, they all look so tough but they're all softies" my comment was "only to those who deserve it" .... Poor Krash was worried their reputation was ruined if the word got out ... ha-ha I am now a proud supporter of BACA and so is everyone who hears about them and sees the difference in me and especially my kids....(we have gone from at least 1 nightmare per kid per night to maybe 1 per week... yay) My daughters sexual abuse counsellor first heard about BACA from me ... she sat back and did some research and waited to see the results, if any, .... she has now made contact with BACA with the view of helping other kids and families as much as they have helped us. I can't express enough gratitude to BACA. I'm yet to need their help but knowing they are there is enough to keep the baddies away at this stage, but geez its bloody nice to know I can call if I need them. I love you guys and look forward to getting to know you's all and help in any way I can ....... if u need a lung or kidney just call me!!! Love u guys and thanks from the bottom of my heart.
