Our agency strives to provide adult education services to the community through one to one volunteers and paid staff. We strive to provide rigorous and flexible services that are pertintent and meet the needs of the students, the community, and employers.
Description:
Our agency is an accredited adult education provider serving the community with Adult Basic Education, GED, and English as a Second Language programs. We provide programs through one to one volunteers and paid instructional staff. Our services are provided across the community from San Luis through Dateland and into Southern La Paz County. We work with other social service agencies to collaboarte and coordinate to ensure that students have the necessary supports to gain their academic goals. Our programs are offered in the morning, afternnon and evening. Classes are provided through class instruction, independent study, computer based and tutoring.
History:
Our agency began in 1981 as a volunteer literacy department of the library. The agency out grew the library and today is the largest nonprofit community based literacy program in the area. We are also the only program providing year round literacy services. We have won awards at the local state and national levels for program excellence.
