Dedicated to improving the lives of people with severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, and anxiety disorders.

Description:
NAMI Yuma is a group of families, friends, and professionals of persons who have a mental illness and individuals with brain disorders that have resulted in a mental illness. NAMI Yuma offers emotional support, outreach, information, and advocacy to its members, educational programs for the community, and financial support for brain research.

History:
NAMI Yuma began as YAMI (Yuma Alliance for the the Mentally Ill) in 1979. Verda McCain and Margaret Hamm begin the NAMI affiliate in Yuma.
