To improve the well-being of Arizona's children and families through programs that strengthen child care, youth and families.

Description:
In at-risk neighborhoods, parents of newborns receive weekly home visits for up to three years. Family support specialists answer parents' questions, discuss the child's health and development, and make sure the environment is safe and stimulating. Parents gain confidence and the child receives a healthy, safe start in life.

Because child care providers guard our future, we offer workshops, conferences and trainings so they can continue their education and keep their skills up to date. We want every family to have access to nurturing providers who not only take good care of children but also prepare them for learning in school.

Teen parents find a safe place to finish their high school education, while their children receive nationally certified on-site child care for free. Moms learn both parenting and life skills so they are prepared for every opportunity.

Child & Family Resources, Inc. is a private, community-based, nonprofit agency offering more than 20 programs throughout Southern Arizona. These are just a few examples of how we positively impact the lives of more than 5,000 children and families each day.

History:
Child & Family Resources has a long history of building community collaborations that address unmet needs and gaps in social services. The agency was originally known as The Tucson Association For Child Care in 1970. The goal was to mobilize communities to develop quality child care options for low-income families. As the agency grew and took on new challenges, the name was changed to reflect the wider scope of our programs. Thousands of families are touched each day through our 30 programs. Services are interrelated and offer a continuum of prevention and early intervention services to support families. Child & Family Resources currently employs over 200 people in seven full-scale offices in Tucson, Phoenix, Yuma, Safford, Sierra Vista, Douglas and Nogales. Staff members reflect the cultural demographics of the communities they serve and are residents of those same communities.
